Miami Valley Sports Bar began as a family venture in 1995 with daughter Julie and parents Don and Nellie Pitts. With 30 years of bartending and management experience under his belt at old-time local staples like Finnegan’s Pub, Don led the way in the front of the house while Nellie ensured long term success behind the scenes. She was the brains and he was the brawn and Julie was there to soak in all the wisdom! In December 1995 the establishment opened as Miami Valley Indoor Golf. It had 6 full swing golf simulators, 4 pool tables and LOTS of space to entertain in what used to be Duff’s Smorgasbord at 930 Watertower Lane. Many changes, renovations, and additions have occurred since then; always with the idea of evolving and repurposing the 15,000 square feet of space into a vibrant, friendly, and welcoming local spot for all to enjoy!

As the 2007 smoking ban took place, a back bar and patio were built and lottery and Keno were introduced as a new means of entertainment. 2009 saw the last of the golf simulators and as craft beer emerged onto the scene, we welcomed Tillie’s Taproom into our space in 2012. This charming nook, a 30-tap full-service bar featuring draught and craft brews, resides at the back of our establishment, named lovingly in honor of Julie’s grandmother and Nellie’s mother, Matilda. As the years unfolded, Don and Nellie stepped into retirement, and by 2015, Julie embraced her role as the visionary leader at MVSB. The tumultuous year of 2019 ushered in a global pandemic, offering a serendipitous chance for Julie and her husband, David, to embark on a full bar remodel during the extended shutdown. As the years progress and the space changes, the goal remains the same: to be a locally-owned, family-run sports bar that evolves and grows with the social needs and trends of the community and the Miami Valley.

Today, Miami Valley Sports Bar proudly showcases 3 fully stocked bars within its 15,000 square feet of fun, a stunning patio, plenty of pool tables, dart boards, games, and space to gather with friends and family. We welcome pool and dart leagues, host weekly tournaments and trivia, and invite food trucks every weekend to satisfy our late night patrons! As we approach the milestone of 30 years in business, we hope you’ll continue to support our growth and celebrate alongside us in the upcoming months of 2025!
